WEEK 9

She wore a onesie that Aunt HF (mommy's bestie) bought her from US and the cute little cap was bought by mommy during her trip to KL.

March 27, 2012 - My happy baby was almost 9 weeks old and already she is generous with her smiles. She's yet to flash me her megawatt smile but every time I point my camera at her, she knows exactly where to look and usually complete the whole process with a smile. I love her like that!

Not A Michelin Baby But It's Okay

3/18: Sleeping soundly on the couch at Dragon-I while mommy had her lunch with the family

 "Communicating" with her grandma

Even though her birth weight was 4.2kg, she wasn't super chubby nor a michelin baby as they would call it but it doesn't matter as she was filling up every inch of her body in a healthy way. I used to complain to hubby why doesn't Abby as chubby as other baby and his replies to me were "it doesn't matter as long as she's healthy". It's true! The one thing that every parent hope for is that their child is thriving and is healthy, the rest is just secondary :)

Morning Laughter

March 19, 2012 - At 7 weeks, my little bald head already portrayed the happy and playful side of hers. These photos were taken in the morning, right before we send her to babysitter. While waiting for hubby to shower, I took the opportunity to snap pictures of my happy bub. I make funny voices and it must have sounded amusing to her as she laughed and giggled away. Oh such a bliss and what a great way to start my morning ♥

The Day We Shaved Off Her Hair

On January 30th, 2012...we shaved off Abby's hair as part of the full moon tradition. Many modern parents forego this tradition but my old fashioned hubby decided to stick with it. My poor baby was left with a bald head....but she makes one cute bald baby! Lol.

Full Moon Celebration

In Chinese culture, when a baby is a month old, celebration are held to mark the one month milestone which we called it as Full Moon (direct translation from Chinese words). We celebrated Abby's full moon on February 25th, 2012 (Saturday) a few days earlier than the actual date.
The dinner was held at 747 restaurant where guests were served with nyonya dishes. Unfortunately, I did not take as many photos as I had planned and here are just a few that I managed to snap.

Hubby's aunt came to help with dyeing the eggs in red. Every full moon celebration is not complete without red eggs. The eggs were later served during the dinner.

The First Week

We brought Abby home on February 2nd, 2012 and we were lucky that her jaundice level was low that we were allow to go home after four days at the hospital. I have to admit that the first few weeks went by like a blur. I thought I have a good grasp of taking care of my own baby because having to live with my brother for years when his first child was born, I thought I have all the knowledge I needed to care for my little one. I was wrong! Even changing diaper was a complete mess. Honestly, it wasn't easy and I struggled quite a lot. Being a mom is entirely new to me, so much to learned and not to mention the wee one kept wanting to latch on me every hour or so, with some sessions lasted for four hours everyday! I was so bummed up that I fell into a mild depression and a lot of tears had been shed at that time. I made mistakes and I learned from there. One thing I've came to realized is you've got to talk it out if you sense something's wrong with you. Be it to your partner, your family or your friends. Just let it out and believe me it will make you feel better. I did and I recovered from it pretty quickly.
