My Favorites of 2013

2013 has been a challenging year, nonetheless. There are lots of ups and downs, happy times and bad times.....but still, I am blessed to have a loving family and most of all blessed to be a mom. Abby showed me everyday what it takes to be a good mom and what patience is all about whenever she drives me up the wall. I am still learning though, to be a good mom to not one but two child of mine. I am so excited for the arrival of our baby no.2 and 2014 is going to be a great year for our family! xoxo

Blessed Christmas 2013

As much as I would like to update all my backdated post, it just won't make any sense if I keep missing the current ones. Knowing that she's turning two in the coming January, I don't want to miss documenting our everyday lives so I've decided to backdated my post up until Abby's first birthday.

And when I have the time, I will share some of the memorable moments of her first year but what matter most is NOW. Hope to share more of her milestones and the little things that she says or does. I know I will thank myself when I read this blog 10 years or 20 years later.

Presents, Presents and More Presents

01/26/2013 - These were taken a day after her 1st birthday party and we let her opened up all the birthday present that she's received from family and friends. Well, she was not that fascinated with the presents but instead showed more interest in the wrapping paper...lol.

Abby's First Birthday

01/25/2013 - Abby turned 1st on 30th Jan but we held her party earlier at a local cafe called Small Potato. As you can see the theme was Minnie Mouse because I think that was the only cartoon character that Abby knew at that time. We had a buffet spread (by Small Potato) and a dessert table (done by me with the help of my friend, Yee Lin and my SIL, Ann). It was a fun night filled with laughter and our birthday girl enjoyed herself so much!

We specially ordered the minnie mouse cake for her and it weighed more than 2kg. 

First Photoshoot

10/17/2012 - We had a photo shoot at a friend's house when Abby was 9 months old. We are blessed that she loves the camera and know just when to smile. But at this age, she can no longer sit quietly so my friend had to be quick in snapping, one after another. Our job was to make sure that she doesn't fall down from the sofa but unfortunately we couldn't prevent it and Abby had a minor fall. She cried a bit, I comforted her and she's back to her normal self in no time. She's definitely a trooper!

I love this the most...it was candid yet beautiful! Abby fell on her left face and cried a bit, so I comforted her and gave her a kiss. Thanks to my friend who was quick in capturing this precious moment of us!

Week 29

8/19/2012 - And just like that......Abby is seven months old. She's learning to crawl and we have to keep a watchful eyes on her all the time.

Her hair is starting to grow...slow but surely
Starts crawling and can sit on her own
She loves to bite especially her car seat strap, stroller strap, rocker strap.....
She loves rice porridge
She still loves to smile and always so happy
She learning to wave good bye
She is talkative and very loud
She is very active and energetic
She is not afraid of strangers at all

Week 26

7/28/2012 - These pictures were taken after a visit to the doctor's clinic. No, she's not ill but just there for her vaccination. We were in the car and to keep her entertained in her car seat, I played peekaboo with her. She was really happy and laughed really loud. Truly blessed to have a happy baby!

Shortly after the visit, Abby developed thrush. She had a really bad nappy rash that I've never seen before and it won't go away no matter what kind of ointment I applied on her. I can even see white spots in her mouth. So I did some searching on the internet and her symptoms are similar to those that found in thrush. So another visit to the doctor's clinic in inevitable. After some examination by Dr Goh, it was confirmed that Abby had thrush. She prescribed some medication and it took about two weeks for the the thrush to completely gone. I told hubby that I suspected the toys in the clinic were not clean as Abby played with them and even put her hand in her mouth. I learned from that incident and I always sanitize her hand or make sure she doesn't put things in her mouth whenever we are in the clinic/hospital.

 Oh that pair of eyes captured my heart every single time!

I can't believe my eyes when she tried to snatch that mug of beer from my friend! Oh, don't tell me she inherited the gene from her papa *shudder*

She can already sit on her own without support but only for a short while before she plopped herself onto the bed....lol.

WEEK 25: First Swim

7/22/2012 - When Abby was almost 6 months old, Josie and I planned for a swimming date with her then 6 months old son, Lucas. I was surprised that Abby wasn't afraid of water at all, either that or she was too young understand what fear is. The float belongs to Josie but it was a tad too big for Lucas so Abby get to play with it instead.

Okay, we were trying to be funny here as we hid behind our babies. Look at their expression! Abby was like "what the heck are our mommies doing" and Lucas was like "beats me"! Lol!

Abby waddled slowly towards me........
